Wow Don, That's alot of bad luck lumped together! Glad the dealer is working out well for you. Hope to see you Wednesday night when we roll in.

Your trailer tires aren't Carlisles are they? I've been hearing many horror stories about them lately.

    Don,
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Didn't you blow a tire in Springfield last gathering? Any way looks like we will not make the gathering this year,...just bought a new car hauler too. Too many family things going on right now. With the heat I have seen a lot of tires come apart lately, but sorry it had to be you. Guessing your in Belen or Los Lunas, but if you need anything through the Edgewood or Moriarty area on I-40 tomorrow give me a call. Good luck in your travels, I wish we were going to make it, I will miss the evening at MoKan.
    Safe Travels, Farmall and Family

I have had good luck with Carlisle tires. Several thousand miles and no problems. I was going to recommend them to Don. Good luck with trip. Road trips can be painful.

Is that on an open trailer or enclosed? I have both and my open trailer has never had a problem. But my enclosed eats about 2 tires a trip. Must be the extra weight. I know Don is pulling an enclosed.

These were all Carlisle tires, but I haven't had much luck with any others either. Putting 2 more Goodyear Marathons on today, so I'll have 4 new tires on when we get back on the road. I think the heat has a lot to do with it. Was supposed to be about 115 at home last Sunday. They do get used at least 2X a month to go to the track so it's not like they just sit all the time. Guess it could be worse.:)

Man, sounds like a rough trip.

Hope everything goes good for you the rest of the way

Just out of curiosity, but are you running a true trailer tire or just car tires?
Might be worth it to invest in a tire with more plys if your running car tires

i just went and looked at the tires again as they seemed a little low when the guy was pulling it over yesterday. I can't believe they put a load range C on and I didn't catch it. The other Marathon I had put on yesterday was a load range D, but I really didn't like the looks of it either. My trailer was in a dirt field between our motel and a Discount Tire shop, so I walked over there and bought 5 of there trailer tires, load range E. They came over and got my trailer and mounted all the tires and a spare for me and are letting me leave it there until we're finished.:)

What size are your trailer tires?

What brand did you have installed? I need to replace the tires on my travel trailer soon and haven't found anything above a load range D for it.

Sounds like some very helpful people in that area! (y)
