What RPM are you leaving at? I can't get more than around 2000 or I start to push. I don't want to go to the tranny brake as I'm right at the 12.00 mark at Firebird raceway.:)

you can play with your timeing. try advancing it and retarding it till it slows with any adjustment. also when you goto the smaller carb it may give that beter launch. take weight out. take the passenger seat, back seat, spare tire if you have one out of the car. go on a diet. you can try iceing the intake mainfold down right before the run. hows the traction. up the air pressure in the front tires at the track to 40 psi. that lowers there rolling resistance. you can back off the drum brake adjusters so they dont drag.

yeah bryant we played a little with the timing retard first slowed it down then adv. it just a touch and thats when i got the 13.34 so a little more playing with the timing. tractions good will up the psi in front only 35 now. brake adjusters are already backed off. i think the timing is the key right now.

just curious. What is the altitude of the track?

For example, I run 12.00s at Firebird in Phoenix. Altitude is about 1200 ft.

I run 12.30 at SIR in Tucson. The altitude is about 3275.

That's pretty good. SIR gets over 5000' and Firebird can get in the 3000's:)
