Mike, I just got a battery today, I'll check it ASAP and post back. By the looks of it, it'll work! Russ
I have a question, my 74 had a trunk light but I had to swap the deck lid. I moved the light to the new lid and it lights great but where is the switch? What controls it?
So, which is it? Does it work or not? The switch operates with mercury, but still must have power and ground. Are you grounding it?
Prolly doesn't have enough angle to shut it off. Take it out, hook the lead to batt + and ground the housing. Now rotate it around until you find where it needs to be to "work". You may have to get creative with the mounting to satisfy both on and off angles...
You can buy a reproduction trunk light http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb...S4N10OAS5B10870122650V~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50001018o#
Weird deal, my "new" deck lid had the mounting hole drilled 180 degrees off from my original lid. I redrilled and the angle was right and now it works perfectly.
I know this an older post, but just started restoring the trunk. My trunk light is on the driver hinge and has a cord, which retracts into black box. The box says Ford on it. It is operated by a toggle switch. No bulb in it yet. My car is a 1972, 2 door.
