Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
your telling me the rear quarters actually has a mounting nipple as part of the fender. that will need to be cut off.

but as for moldings.. i always asked myself the same question.. to keep or not to keep. like most say it a matter of opinion. i have one with and one with out.. so i guess that stops the delema for me eh?

I say lose the trim and weld the holes shut. Do it right or don't do it at all. Simply filling the holes is half-assed. It is not expensive to have someone weld them, and worth it in the long run...

just filling the holes with bondo will cause problems later, the bondo can draw moisture in and cause the paint to bubble and help rust to form. weld them holes closed and undercoat the inside

When we built my car (my dad and I) it was to be a daily driver, so I thought about it long and hard and knowing how many people in this world do not have any respect for what others own I left the trim on to act as some what of a gaurd. In most cases if some one opened a door into my car the trim would protect the paint. I can buy the chrome alot cheeper than repainting the door. But now that my car is done I love the way it looks, I wouldn't take it off even if I was doing the car again. I think it gives it a break, which alot of people use a pin stripe or what ever they like the most.

One of the most important things about building a car is no matter what everyone else likes you are the one that is going to look at he car everyday, so make yourself happy, and if others have other opinions, well guess what they can build there own car :D :D Make yourself happy first is all I am trying to say.

But I love the chrome down the sides myself

Where do you suppose you're going to buy it from? it isn't made anymore and is extremely difficult to find in good condition...

as of right now I have enough to do about 3 cars.....it is nice being most people take it off and don't want it so I pick it up.......... And with the right amount of patients anything is possible.

And if all you get is a ding in it from some idiot opening a door in it, it is very easy to repair, it is only aluminum.

Not really T.L., considering most folks want their car to look like it was made in 2005

I'll be traveling to GA. around the end of April to get the seats from dmhines. I could bring my welder and do some welding while I am there. I'm not the best welder by any stretch but usually get by OK.

I removed the chome and the emblems on my 70. I ve never been a fan of the chrome. Mines been off 2yrs and everytime I see a maverick with the chrome, Im glad I made that decision. Personal choice.
