I stripped all the interior out today and cleaned up the floors. Has one small rust hole, but not bothered as the floor will be completely cut out to accept the chassis :)

Oh, I Just ordered 2 NEW 295/45-18 NITTO NT555 EXT 45R R18 TIRES. Will be here Monday, ordering rims tomorrow morning. Going with these below

18x10" Rims overall is 18x11 - Order is about 4 weeks out as they are custom built rims. Going with a 0 offset - but will be a 5" dish.

I need to order brakes, and axles next.

Planning on doing a staggered and raked look. So, with that in mind I was thinking 17x8 in the fronts. With maybe a 3.50 offset.

I also ordered the 68 Shelby Rear bumper. The bumper had some bad chrome on it so got it at a huge discount. Bumper will be powder coated black.

As well as the 71 Mach 1 front bumper

Is that Mike in Auburn? He is one hell of a nice guy. Helped me do the 302 swap in my 70 Grabber. Of course I gave him a lot of parts, plus we swapped a few parts also....

Tires arrived today, the wife snapped a picture of them next to the car. I think thats a great size tire for these cars!

    Alright,

Finally home! Feels good, during the day I have nothing better to do than work on the maverick. So I did a little mocking up, playing with the look a little bit.

These bumpers are just held up by stands, trying to figure out how I want to them to flow, angle, and mount. Had to do a little trimming of the fenders, but no biggie. When I am done I plan on having about 1/8" of a gap from the bumpers to the body.

Also checked out the wheel size and its gonna look good. A little wheel tuck looks good. Fronts I will probably go with a 17" wheel with maybe a 30-35 side wall instead of 45RZ/18's in the rear.

    Whatcha think?

Front Bumper is a 70-72 Mustang Mach 1 front bumper
Rear bumper is a 68 Shelby Mustang bumper
    Rear tires are 295/45RZ/18
Wheels are American Racing 18x11 with 5.5" offset (those will be here this coming Wednesday)

Looking good! seriously looks like the mustang bumper fits better than the stock ones, i hate the hangover on each side, it looks out of place to me. can't wait to see how you make the middle of it work and look weather you do something custom or just smooth it out :)

Yeah, when I ordered it I was hoping that the bumper was slightly smaller than the body of the maverick so that I can add to the bumper slightly instead of reducing it, especially on that rounded end. It will be different, I have a idea, but we'll see it pans out.

The bumper for the rear will have to wait until I am done doing the Shelby mod so I can attach the bumper to the new panel. Trying to get a consistency on the rear instead of having the bumper to low, and the lights to high on the panel.

Getting ready to go back out of town tomorrow morning for 2 1/2 weeks so will be saving up a few bucks to order the axles/brake kit. Should be ready to backhalf the car when I return.

Bob (mavrocket) is coming over shortly to help me pull this motor, going to give his son the c4 for his maverick to help him get his car going.

    :thumbs2:
