That seems much better. I myself would be OK with a 90 day. If something is gonna go wrong it usually does right away.

    Good job negotiating! :thumbs2:

Sounds high to me. If you have connections, you can get a Jasper 302 long block for around $2000 with a trade in. They are warranted for 3 yrs or 75,000 miles, parts and labor.

Sounds high to me also. The engine is $6 and the rebuild is another $12. $1800 total. Plus install. You really need to go to the track or some shows and meet some people who are into this stuff. I'm not saying ditch your friends. Don't get me wrong, but car guys love to talk at shows and the track or swap meets. Go by tourself. the info is out there.:)

Half the fun is all the Swap meets and finding all the parts for your car. Take your time research ,take advise from all on this board. (y)

I definitely will. I never got to know that side of this hobby (is hobby the right term?). I'm gonna start asking around and see where there are tracks around here and swap meets. I think Pomona has swap meets.

I appreciate the advice, I'm excited to get into it.

hobby, lifestyle, ADDICTION.... they all fit.

If your going to have it rebuilt, you should be able to get a core for less than 600. pull-a-part is around 250 for the complete motor, and for a rebuild, you don't need an HO, just a post 1987 302 (if you want a roller cam).
