This part came off a 1975 Maverick with a 250 with factory AC, automatic, no power steering and no power brakes. It is a vacuum switch. Do any of you know what this part is called or where I can get it? I can not find any information on line.

    Thank you,
    Shawn

I have seen it called an AC Damper Door Switch Assembly. Nobody makes it, and it can be hard to find a good used one.

There is one on eBay for $49 obo. NOS listed for 74-77 pinto. Looks identical but different color. Search for 1975 ford damper door. D5FZ-19B888-A YH-274.

The Pinto one will not work.

I was wondering about that. Do you know why?

While it "looks" similar....upon closer inspection one can see they are different. Most of the Fords of that era used a similar type of vacuum switch, but they are all different.

Thank you for the responses. I figured I would go ahead and give an update for whoever else ran into this same problem. It appears that the part number for this switch is D5DZ-19B888-A. I got lucky and found one on ebay. If you have to get one of these, good luck because they are very hard to find. An alternate part number is D2ZZ-19B888-A. I could not find that one.

Back in 99 I found an NOS one at Green Sales when I was putting my 77 together. Also found a NOS condenser. Got the factory air working great in that 77 and then the guy I sold it to ripped it all out. Go figure. If you can find a 70 switch, go for it. They are all metal. You have to flip the vacuum plug assembly upside down, but it works. I think I have one 70 switch and a couple of the later ones that are still intact.

Where did you come up with the alternative part number? Starting "D2Z....", that would be for a 1972 or later Mustang. I am betting that part changed in 74 with the introduction of the Mustang II.
