Just don't let it sit for too long before washing it off. Especially "Easy-Off" Oven cleaner. That's the strongest stuff, the rest are watered down. First if left too long it'l turn the aluminum black, next it'll start to eat thru it. Rinse the stuff off, then rinse again and again and again. It won't all come off the first time. Better go check that spot again today too.
