The cell phone thing might be something u want to look into... In NC it's not legal to sue for punitive damages from a car wreck, but might be different in ur state

I'm so sorry to hear about your car. That's fortunate that you and your passenger, as well as your dog, are ok.

Nope I see it every-time I get on the road. Been an offence here for a while now. I dont think it has made much difference but its a start I guess. Those laws deter guys like me that have some respect and common sense. They dont work for ignorant.stupid people.

And that's the trouble with a lot of laws, they are pretty much unenforceable. Good on intent, but poor in practice...

Bryant, I hope the outcome of your wreck is satisfactory.

i picked up the cover sheet for the accident report today. the whole report wasn't done. it was a 27 year old female. the car is registered under somebody else s name. it was a 2011 jetta. the jetta has mercury insurance on it. at least it a company ive heard of and not some fly by night place. i have full coverage with AAA and they are handling everything so far. there inspector came out today to look at the car but his camera battery died so hes coming back on Monday.
ill tell everybody here i am very glad i had a cage in the car. you can see how the crush stops where the cage starts. the doors still open and close. next car is geting an even better cage.

Makes me glad I went through the work to put a full cage in mine :)

When I previously mentioned to you that maybe you could still have the police check her phone logs, I figured if you had to go after her for anything later on, it would be to your benefit to have her nailed for texting while driving.

Holy cow that realy sucks but thank God the two of you and the dog are fine . Can the car be put on a frame machine or has that yet to be determined ? It is amazing how no one cares about thier saifty or the saifty of others , truly sad !

I was so worried today while I was driving the maverick in stop and go traffic in the rain , I was watching the rear view as much as the cars in front of me . I got stuck in traffic again on the way home because some one got rear ended.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
What I had always heard is that roll cages are bad for street cars in case of an accident. That they stiffen up the body so you absorb more of the hit.

But looking at the pictures you can see that the body still absorbed the impact but the cage prevented it from furthering down.

ya my cage ended above the rear axle. its a hard call on what is safer. all i know is that with out the cage the girl going around 35 mhp in to my stopped car would have collapsed the center of the car.
