I'm betting that car had quite a few "knuckle busters" in the frt springs.

 

Awesome! That mav below the "thrifty" sign looks great with those wheels, kinda like a bonneville car.

 

Does it count as vintage if I took it with a 1960's camera?

Not unless it's a very late 60's model camera. Better to use a early 70's camera

 

I was sent this on Facebook by an old friend I have not seen in many years, in the background is my 1972 Maverick Grabber, I paid $50.00 for it at a towing yard auction, the owners were running from the cops and ran out of gas, it was impounded and I bought it, sitting next to it is my mothers Fairmont Futura, don't know the date of the pic...............

He was taking a pic of his car you see in the foreground.

 

A 73 parts Maverick I got spindles off of back in 2000. It was in Fredericton on the Royal Rd. I was hunting for 5-bolt spindles for a guy named "Joe" who was working on a 66 Mustang at the time. This car was said to have had a 271hp 289 and a 4-speed.

I got the spindles and took them to Joe. We talked about the donor car for a few minutes and then he disappeared into his basement. He came back with THIS picture. This was the same car in the previous picture...the same car that he bought from his Mother and had installed a 289 and 4-speed in back in '76 or so!! This picture is from a car show Joe had placed the car in back in the late 70's-early 80's. SO, I ended up selling Joe his spindles BACK to him after 30 years! COINCIDENCE... I think not!
