My car was about the same when I got it in 1982 with 35,000 miles on it. Front fenders and rear quarters all had holes. With no rust prevention, these cars dissolved. Planned obsolescence. Can't sell 'em new ones if they don't need 'em.

My first car, a 71 that I cloned, bought from my Grandmother for $200. The picture was taken in my Dad's back yard prior to getting covered up when I was getting ready to deploy for the first time after joining the Navy. Early 80's.

 

This is the same car that I had posted a few other pictures of towards the beginning of this thread. 1971 Maverick local to me. Was raced in 1971 at Pennfield Dragway in southern NB. Car had a 427 Tunnelport.
