Happy new year guys, I haven't posted in awhile. I was restoring a rifle over the holidays... Now, Waiting on the auto shop finishing my motor. The guy's doing me a favor and its gonna be cheap but I dropped the block off almost 2 yrs ago!!! I have been practicing my welding over the break and got all my sanding/primering supplies in order. Just getting excited!
I know how you feel. My Cleveland block has only been at the speed shop since July of last year. I have to keep visiting the shop to remind them to keep doing something to it any chance that they get. So far it's been tumbled in order to de-rust it, line bored, decked and bored .030 over. I'm dropping off some more cash this week so they can send for the pistons and rods. In March it will get it's stroker crank in order to become a 393. I just wish mine was cheap and almost finished.
maybe we should start an engine support group? "Hello, my name is Brandon and I miss my motor..." haha. I have plenty to keep me busy. I need to put in a new floor and put on the disc brakes and spindles I purchased in November. I got a digital camera for christmas so I will be sure to document my projects, so somebody else can learn from my mistakes
My speed shop must figure that they'll be holding on to it for a long time yet because they're giving me a cracked 351c block so that I can use it for setting up all my mounts in the chassis.
