Well, took the 74 to another show this weekend. It was an open show so there was a little of everything. The only class I had to fit my car was "70-79 production" which opens up to a lot of cars. Wound up being 11 cars in my class before it was over. 1st place went to a fully restored 73 Mach I (should have been in Mustang class which was available), 2nd was an awesome, fully restored 71 Torino convertible which was legit in this class, 3rd was my little ole unrestored Maverick. I was very happy to get third being that I was judged against both of these cars. When they called my name out to come get my award, the announcer said "Hey Ray, we got a call from The Smithsonian when they found out we had a Maverick in our show". Everybody got a laugh out of that including me. It was a great show with around 250-300 cars. I guess I'll be showing it next weekend at FFW but I'm not expecting too much. I entered my blue car last year and didn't win anything. Those guys are tough. I'll have fun anyway.
Thanks Earl...oh yeah, I'll be staying at the Comfort Inn in Jefferson on Hwy 129. I just hope it's a decent area.
