    Rust!

I did battle with my 77 and its rusty floorboards. In the end I won although my arms feel like jello from all the cutting and grinding.

Installed the Lokar C4 kick down cable. The Quick Fuel carb doesn't have a C4 kick down lever.

Actually, not just today. Had a couple of issues. That cable. and the called-for carb bracket, conflict with the stock throttle cable bracket. Had to mod the Lokar bracket a little.

Also adjusted the choke off some. It wasn't opening at all when the engine started. Maybe that will improve the cold bloodedness some. Still runs rough for the first couple of miles. Maybe that's to be expected with no exhaust manifold heat and no intake manifold heat on the air charge.

Have a plan to take it to the Benson/Dunn 1/8th mile strip for T&T on Thursday. Gotta see what the 347 does. :bananaman Showers are forecast so that may get postponed to next week. If anyone is there, stop by and say "hey". I'm eager to do a WOT 1-2 upshift. :) Can't stay on it that much on the street.

Have the rev limiter set at 6K and I'm wondering if it'll need 3rd gear on the 1/8th mile.

My buddy has a Trailblazer SS that was faster than the Maverick with the 5.0. He's made a couple of small improvements so we'll have fun. I really don't like getting beat by a truck.

Another friend will be there with his Mitsubitshi something-or-other. No idea what that will do. Also wouldn't like getting beat by a ricer but guess I'll have to get used to that. One beat the TB SS even after a 4 sec head start at a 1/4 mile track.

Still haven't lined up a photographer.

Wow a little bit ago I bought a 600 cfm edelbrock carburetor from one of my neighbors, well because he needed the money and the price was right i picked it up.
I stuck it on my car for a couple days so I could keep driving my car while I was rebuilding my 625 AFB carter carb.
I never could get the dang thing to run right always flooding just a miserable pain in the butt, figured I had a bad float or something in it:mad:

Well to get on with the story, my Carter works awesome but it is setup for sea level, so going through my numbers trying to figure out what rods and jets to order I found one of the setups within the range I needed to lean the carburetor out utilized the same jet size as the secondarys in the 1406 600cfm edelbrock carburetor which I had one sitting on my bench from my neighbor. Well so I start pulling the dang thing apart to get to the secondaries and what do I find.. The answer too my flooding problem.:rofl2:

I wish I'd have known that you needed a dash cap. I've got an extra one and would have made you a good deal. Let us know how the dye job turns out. I would like to change the color of mine to.

Really just fixing a trans leak where the converter bushing moved and got into the converter seal.easier to pull both then to fight the trans out.

I have thought about going ahead and turbo'ing it this go around though.

Got to get the motivation back lol

Anyone need a nice roller?? Lol
