Yesterday after work I was sand blasting the engine bay till the sun went down. It was dark but I could still see enough to work. Every place the sand stream touched the metal glowed red orange due to friction heat.
Now I know how shops are warping sheetmetal. I always keep the preasure below 80 psi just to make sure I dont make big holes.:)

Most people don't realize how much heat is created from blasting.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Went to the Junkyard, it was a miracle. They had a TON of old cars. I'll make thread on it in a bit.

Then when I got home I pulled the mock up 302 and C4. I had a 5.0/H.O. engine for it but sold it, so I'm still undecided on what I want to put in it.

I've measure a SOHC 4.6L before and it does fit with the stock towers.... :D

But of course another 5.0 is just plug and play...

Today I decided to start tackling my roof and rust problems. I started cutting out the rust patches on the pillars cleaned up the rust behind it and hit it with a rust prohibiter. Tomorrow I will be getting sheet metal and my brothers mig to begin tacking it into place.

What are some good suppliers of sheet metal? I can only take so much sheet metal from the local gas and electric company.

I would look in your local phone books for steel fabricators or steel suppliers - there has to be some place within driving distance from you.

I buy all of my steel from a local fabrication shop that also sells steel in sheets or lengths :thumbs2:

I just bought 6 pieces of 14 guage steel sheared to 6" by 24" and an 8 foot length of 1/8 thick by 1 inch wide bar stock for 19 bucks from them :)

That wasn't exactly helpful, but I do laugh, knowing where i got it, if i didnt strip and primer some of the metal they would be orange and say men at work on it.
