I put the carburator together and installed it. Then I put the new distributor together and installed it. Still waiting on the gas tank to get done, but I did get the new fuel line installed. I started working on the disc brake conversion but soon found out the 72 tie rod ends don't match the 75 spindles that I'm using. Luckily I saved the ones from the last conversion I did. I got them out and cleaned them up from setting on a shelf for 12 years.

Got the gas tank for the Mav back yesterday. The guy said that in 40yrs of working on tanks mine was the worse he had ever seen. Didn't suprise me, that's the way my stuff goes...lol. It was only 50 bucks over quote and it looks great. Just waiting on the filter boot for the sending unit to arrive from www.autokrafters.com and a few other odds and ends.

Got the drivers side Disc brake swap completed, just minus 1 90 degree fitting and the strut rods from Global West. Installed the Canton Pre-Oiler with electric solenoid and most of the fittings although I need to wait until Monday to get the flex hose made........started wiring the solenoid from inside the car to the ignition switch.
Got the new cam back today and will put it back in the motor on Monday...
    engine dyno here we come............................
Is anyone going to Samoa Drag strip for the 2 day test and tune on the 14th of April........................I am shooting to be there!

    Derek,

These are Champion Wheels http://www.cwibeadlock.com/dragrace.htm and are SFI cert'd (something I wanted because the Maverick is a race only car).
I really didn't want to spend $2k for Billet Specialty/Bogart etc., so did a lot of research and found Champion who are the people that started the "Bead Lock" system for wheels. These wheels are very close in design to Billet Specialty..........so I found a dealer (Larry Hodge Racing Tire) and ordered the wheels from him. I got the wheels, 15x3.5/w 2.25BS up front and 15x12/w 4.5 BS out back, plus valve stems, lugnuts/washers/caps and even got free shipping for $989, and the wheels are made in San Diego.
It took about 4 days for them to build the wheels (they only build when they get an order) and I had them a week after I ordered them.
If you are interested Larry's phone is 217-677-2358 and email is 11hr3306@netzero.net
I really like the looks, price, and their quality if very nice...........IMHO
