I drove mine around town for 10 miles today just to make sure everything was good. Gonna drive it tomorrow to the muffler shop. It has a muffler but the two sections of pipe need to be weldd and a new hanger added. :)

Machined hinge pins to use E-clips so if in the future you need to replace the bushings in the hinge, there is no need to cut the pin out to change them. Plus I can paint the hinges without painting the bushings and pins.

What a difference!! The suspension always seemed kinda harsh on small bumps. Like the tires were overinflated. Not now!

Something I didn't expect was improved steering. Before the steering and suspension was rebuilt the car was a chore to keep in lane. After the rebuild, and alignment, it was very much improved but still wandered a little. That's gone now. Its a better driving car with the bronze-bushed spring perches. And, no creaks and groans. :D

Went out this morning and the car wouldn't start. Had that problem Saturday when it was in the shop. Guy said he found a loose wire. I went over and asked him which wire was loose as I tried them all. He said he jumped across the solenoid and it started right up after that. He thought one of the wires was loose. I went home and jumped it this afternoon. Clicked, then started right up. No loose wires so i changed out the solenoid. Will try again in the morning to go to the muffler shop.:)

Hooked up a vacuum ball (I robbed from an Explorer) so now my vents move from heat, to Defrost, to A/C...also cleaned up and painted the charcoal canister, since it seems that the MTO is cracking down on old cars....One step closer to A/C :D

took more parts out of the maverick today.
when installed the fuel cell it did fit through the trunk opening. it wouldnt come out with out enlarging the opening.

the impact of the crash shoved the fuel cell forward and it tore through the front of the trunk floor. im impressed with the strength of the cell. it is dented up but not breached.

What brand fuel cell is that. It appears to be one tough mother.

I went out and attempted to make an instrument panel for the 73 to put the tac and the rest of the racing gauges in. I also want to put the toggle switches for the car in the same pc of aluminum. I failed on this attempt. LOL

    There is always tomorrow.
