What did you do to your Maverick or Comet today

    i ordered it through a local guy here he said it was coming from missisippi...the brand was BTE? or BTI? didn't quite look at it yet as i was getting the motor/trans into the shop so i could get it all ready for this weekend.
    the long wait will be over after the weekend..hopefully sunday i hear vroom vroom and not boom boom

    Try and take some pictures or even better a video of the motor starting up, love to hear it cough for the first time.

    Received my replacement hammer and dolly set from Eastwood today. This set is worse then the first! How can you straighten dented sheetmetal with dolies that are not flat where they are supposed to be?

    added another idler pulley to my belt system to give me more wrap on the crank and waterpump pulleys. the old belt was 48" and the new one is 84"...that's a wrap...:outtahere:

    Pulled off the worn a/c system, put on a 3g alternator, and replaced the motor mounts.. not happy with the quality of the replacments the rubber isolator is shorter causing a vibration..


    Still need to change the valvecover gasket and throw some valve seals in it

    I'll see who's there to help.. Dads leaving town sometime this weekend.. And my friends work in oil rig camps lol..someone will have to be topping up the trans fluid, doing the timing, and keeping Rpms up And I'm not sure what else lol, my first engine break in and start up ever.

    Got the motor and tranny hooked up together today though.. The converter. Said to put a liter in it so I did that aswell, and torqued down the intake plate lifter thing..then wired up the rest of the shop panel and lights ( hopefully get a inspection Friday)

    Welllllll, Frank, Jeff and I lowered the a/c compressor on my car, and installed the monte carlo bar. Works great, looks better!

    the 84" belt was about 1" too short..will try again tomorrow...:yup:

    Put valve seals and a valve cover gasket on the 4 door and gave the motor a spray bomb rebuild tommorow i will paint the engine bay and begin body work and the one week makeover for the gathering.

    Project granny hauler will be transfered into project evil taxi
