    Putting on the Miles!

Drove :drive: it to work yesterday, and then to the dentist and local Ford dealership today. Working out the 'bugs' and making a Christmas list as I go. Almost 200 extra miles on the odometer since I started on Monday:yup:

Got tired of the shoulder belts hanging down and the buckle rattling, so they all of a sudden became "MIA" from my options list. ;)

I used a black plastic 'plug' from an old Taurus inner fender to make the deletion look as inconspicuous as possible.

Stuck a piece of chain in the fuel tank and shook it around for a bit, got a bit of crap out of it, put the passenger side fender on and sprayed the front valence with PB Blaster where the black tar like stuff is stuck on it, tried on the wheels I have and don't like any of them so back to the hunt for more.

    Super Exciting Day today

Got My hands on a Grabber rear trunk lid spoiler with side pieces from James Lee in Shelby Indiana today, and then later on tonight scored a Grabber Hood AND a Grabber Grill from another local guy in the Chicago area all in one day! Special Thanks to James Lee today for all the help, he is a class act all the way and a true Auto Enthusiast. That guys garage is what a lab is to a mad scientist! Mav, Comet, Falcon parts and more! What a wealth of knowledge and I met him here, a real gentleman. Thank you Maverick Forum!

Shorten the down pipe on my exhaust 2". Also replaced the rear end vent tube while I was under there.

Went to Pick n Pull to get a sending unit sock, saw a 1979 Granada and pulled the sending unit out, seem when they punched a hole in the gas tank, he also took out the sock off of the end of sending unit, oh well....it does have disc brakes, too bad I don't need them, looked inside hoping for a console but it had a bench seat, picked up another dome light like the one I had in the Blue Maverick.

I took out the old 250 out of my Maverick....I'm replacing it with a '80 250 fresh from the machine shop with a new Clay Smith 264/264 with 112 lobe centers and a new early timing chain. They honed the cylinders and redid the crank....and will re-ring the pistons.

Finished the cleaning of the fuel tank, put a good coat of POR15 on the outside of the tank and painted the tank straps and bolts, looked at the rear disc setup and walked away for now.
