I started the tear down of the 1975 comet. Thanks to many on the forum for all the help locating parts. Now I need to locate front floor pans. :Blasting::coffee::sweep:

Not at all overkill................being a retired engineer, when you engineer for safety you always go to 120% for calculated load and sometimes even more.
As long as the shank goes completely through the rod end and whatever the rod end is attached to............you should be good to go.
Also, don't forget..................you only get what you pay for when buying rod ends..................the $20 3/4-16 rod end is just an acident waiting to happen........especially in any suspension part..............and yes my ladder bars do take the brunt of the load while your four link spreads it out....how about some pictures of your 4 link..........if you have it installed.

Have you checked with McMaster Carr? I'll ask around at work to get you some good leads on bolts and such!

I'm at work right now, so I can't get to my build photos stored at home, but I found these in my photo gallery - not full built or functional yet but you can get the idea :)

Have you looked into using a shoulder type bolt instead? Would be alot stronger as well as having more surface contact.

Yep, I checked all of the online places. The problem is trying to find bolts that have the proper shank length to go through the brackets and rod ends so there is no thread contact..........just solid shank.
    Thanks for the help.

If I was going to do that, I could have went with fenderwell headers and the straight front axle Gasser look :p
