    I started gutting the dash of my Comet to get the dash pad for my Maverick. I really wish this car didn't have A/C. :mad:

    Contacted the insurance company to get the check so I can begin the repairs. Still looking for trim though.

    Well...........you are certainly doing a good job.
    I hate body work but love to paint....................I wish I had access to a booth...................I do have some friends in Morgan Hill that own a body shop and do some pretty good paint jobs, the Renteria Brothers, they race a ProMod Valiant....................in the 5's.

    I found a booth for rent, I sold my old grabber to his buddy so he said he'd rent out his booth in his shop. It's been a while since I've done body work, still learning but I've never painted besides primering panels. I've thought of just doing jambs, hood and trunk in bc/cc and taking it to somebody to shot the body. If I do bc/cc myself i figure a solid color would be easiest and I could always get the paint cut and buffed.

    ended up buying some slick sand as my quarter was a little wavy after all the work ive done..that stuff is amazing..driver side is DONE until the last coat of primer before paint...pass side i sprayed today with slick sand because i found a couple small issues..this stuff is seriously amazing and i recommend it.
    tomorrow i will sand it and see what else it needs..if its good im moving on to the valances!

    plus i ordered like 75 toggle switches off Ebay...they have LED's in the end of them to show there on :)

    Slick sand is awesome good bang for the buck and great for straightening the waves out. I have used it several times and will again.

    That sounds great if you can use a booth.
    A solid color and single part epoxy would be the easiest, but getting the temperature/humidity correct is real important.
    Cutting a cutting/buffing just takes time and patience.........plus it's real messy................but to do it yourself..............nothing more rewarding.
