Removed the cowl off of a 4 door 71 that had rolled.

I found AA handbook from 79, looks like the driver killed himself on the way to a AA meeting. Front end was rolled bad, everything in the car smashed BUT the cowl.

Brand new parts in the trunk, spark plugs, points for distb, oil filter, alternator, etc.

Drove my car today after removing the bottom leaf of the General 4 leaf springs. I was pleased w/ the results. I removed the leaf cuz IMO the cars ride was way to stiff -- one of the best moves I hve made since owning the car. After riding on these springs for 3 yrs w/ the bone jarring ride, I shud hve did it 3yrs ago.

I believe 4 leaf/880lb springs are overkill for these light cars no matter what you use the car for. The car still has a firm ride but nothing like B4 the change. If ur just using it for 1/4mi at a time, on smooth surface -- that may work. If ur driving the car in the real world -- altogether different matter IMO.

After consulting w/ 71Gold " Thanks Frank" who has the same springs were the inspiration for removing the bottom leaf.
I look fwd to driving the car more now that I don't have to be mindful of ruts, potholes and irregular surfaces..
