Well, finally everything is at various shops throughout NorCal/SoCal. Took the motor to Groom today and should hear the good news/bad news Monday or Tuesday......................then chart a path forward. I am not changing anything in the motor, still using the Crower 704 cam, but will have new cam and may have the rollers rebuilt rather than spend $600 for new ones, and the only thing I am a little concerned about is the billet crank and the amount of drilling that CHP did on the front and rear throws to externally balance it, this time I will internally balance it. So we will see.............
Mike called to to let me know the the planetary had lost three teeth...that was the bad news..........the good news it hadn't destroyed the trans whick is a little unusual..............but since the trans was put together in March of 99.......which is over 12 years of racing..............it held up excellently, and I would never take the trans anywhere else. So they are going to replace, upgrade clutches, valve body, planetary, and make some mod's that will improve the pumping ability...........re-cert the bell housing, new flex plate, scatter shield................and about $1500 later + loosen up the converter a little..............I will have it back in about 3/4 weeks.
Anyone have any ideas of where to take my third member for some refreshen in the San Jose area?

Took it for about a 90 mile ride. Got the carb reworked by Holley, who found some mfg defects. Replaced the primary metering block and acc pump cover. Got it adjusted and it runs much better. Getting ready for the trip to Somerset on Wed.

Yesterday I attempted to drop my 86 5.0 and T-5 combo in, failed lining up the frame and motor mounts for two hours. Even after lifting 3/4 of the car off the ground with one jack and who knows how many jack stands to try and get the right angle because my garage is unlevel. Used a 24oz, 44oz, and 80oz maverick specific(didn't think they had any of that huh?) "refit" tool. Took a 24 hour break to realize today that all I had to do was loosen the motor mount bolts so I had more play. Now I'm spending, like always, more time on this forum and on summit and on google looking for parts and information to get it actually running. As my friends would say. It's been about a week away from finished for three months now. Fuel pump: $120 dollars Radiator and Fan: $300 Pulleys, Clutch Pedal Assembly and lines: $400 dollars Adapters for Adapters for Adapters to get parts from other cars to work on a Maverick: Priceless.

    Thinking hurts my head...:D

Split the lip on the front fender, added a piece of sheet metal, rolled the lips, filled in the marker lights, welded everything back together and finished off...I'm running 255's on all four corners and with the uca mod and a cut coil they weren't gonna work with doing this...Very subtle which only an experienced eye would notice
