Today, I fixed up my valve cover issue, flushed my brake fluid, greased the front end. Clean and painted my new front bumper shocks....and a few other little things......

After fussing with the entire electrical system for the past month with the purpose of establishing reliable headlights.......I installed relays for both of the lighting circuits.

WOW!!! What a difference. Completely eliminated the overloading issue I was having and also resulted in considerately brighter lights. Double-Whammy!!!

Wish I would have tried this weeks ago. Strongly suggest it to anyone that's having headlight issues.

Fired up and drove my orange car for the first time this year. Got to get it ready for the MCCI Roundup Nationals.

(Note to self: drive that car more often...it is fun!!)

First time this year = U kidding? :hmmm:
Guess U can do that when U have many to chose from. When U only have one it has to be the one U drive..:rofl2:
I wash mine and after that it looked like rain so I ditched the thought to go hang out at the reg Sunday Tastee Freeze gathering. I was kind of tired anyway so no big deal.

Went to sherwood and got my new tires. Got home and put them on...It's so much nicer not to worry about bald tires blowing out while you're driving down the road! :thumbs2:

    AC Sys Charged

Had my new AC sys charged. The folks who charged it, claims it's full and there are no leaks.
It's not putting out like I think it shud. I can get by w/ it temporarily. I think the door cable @ the evap/heatcore may not be opening all the way. I will ck to see later. Anyway, I think it is gud enough to attempt headin out nx wk for the RU.

We can check it out at the Roundup Nationals next week in Dearborn. Email Dave Boyer and tell him to bring his digital thermometer.

Thought, briefly, about selling it. Too damned hot down here to work on it, and putting my money into other things...

    Everett,

Do you know how much refrigerant they put in? I checked with Classic Air and was told 24 oz. It works WELL with that. First charge was somewhat less and it wasn't enough.

I gave them specific instructions to put in 24oz and no oil. My work order say's they put in/charged me for 2 lbs freon 134A.
I dv the car this evening and really had a chance to get a better idea of what's happening. The air coming out of the vents seem pretty cold. Today when I pick the car up I had a rear 1/4 window open - That did'nt help.
I have'nt put a thermo there yet, but it seems as cold as my 99 Windstar. The difference is I have my drivers door panel off " putting in insul and treating some rust". At speed it seems to do a pretty gud job. I have to consider the Windstar is 27yrs younger, better insul w/ modern materials and so on.
I guess to be realistic, u can't really expect a 40 yr old car to be as efficient in comfort control as today's cars.
Anyway, it's gud enough for me to hit the road nx week. Shud be better once I put the door panel back.

See my post about the window seals.

As you stated......bottom line: These cars are 40 years old and they won't cool as todays cars.
