Installed upper and lower control arms, along with roller spring perches and the voltage regulator. I had the kids helping me, so I was going for simple installs with some eye-candy for them. Back to blasting brackets and small parts...

Went to the good guys swap meet and found a bumper shop that had a set of rechromed comet bumpers. Had to give mine up as cores but I think I came out ahead. $460 for a front and rear for a set of 71 rechromed comet bumpers with bolts.

Fixed a short in my steering column, turned out to be a missing spacer in the Grant adapter that caused the wheel to sit to close to the turn switch... No more sparks... Also had a ticking in my engine that turned out to be loose header bolts, fixed and no more ticking... The car is running very good now...

put in a disconnect switch for onboard charger. learned not to leave a onboard charger hooked to a battery when not plugged in. weirds out the cars charging system and drains the battery over non running time. drained a new battery to 0 volts, lucky it took a charge.

Since the snow is here and 16 degree weather I did not work on my old girl outside. She is covered.
I stayed in the heated shop and sanded Centerline aluminum wheels. Man is that a chore to start with heavy grit and work your self up to 2000 grit then polish. I am at 1500 grit now. My first one is almost done , looking really good and will take a pic then.

I now have brakes! All weekend to get them bled right. I had all new components and decided to go with DOT 5 silicone fluid. Not for performance, but because it doesn't eat paint. Maybe one of the best bad decisions I have ever made. I had the fluid all over the place, so I think it paid off. Also, working with stainless lines is a little more challenging than soft steel. Lot's of leaks. Yes brakes appear to be a little spongy, but it'l stop fine.

I've had silicone fluid in my Cobra Jet since 1992, never noticed any sponginess(yes I know DOT5 is supposed to compress slightly)...

I've found the rears on my Comet will gravity bleed, fill reservoir, open valve at wheel cylinder(one only)and just let it drip... If there is any air they'll be periods the drip stops, when sure doesn't have any more air, close bleeder and open opposite side... Whole process shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes... I vacuum bleed my fronts but am fairly sure they'll gravity bleed as well... That's when the lines are mostly full of fluid, isn't going to happen with dry lines..
