Not necessarily to it, but picked up an 8.8 with 3.73 limited slip and disc brakes out of an Explorer today with another short axle shaft. Plan on getting it torn down, cleaned up and cut this weekend.

Removed master cylinder and all hard brake lines, and installed clutch pedal. Clutch pedal was a PITA. Can't really tell from the pic but the "rusty" support has the bearing upgrade.

Stared at it in the 18 degree garage and then ordered more parts.

Stu, you had your chance yesterday, now you have to wait a couple more weeks. I know the feeling brother we have had a wet year here on the coast . I spent the day yesterday going to the NWDRA high performance swap meet, should have stayed home and enjoy the half day without rain.

I replaces the axle seals, installed the axles, backing plates and wheel cylinders. Also hung a new center brake line but didn’t bolt it the axle housing. The new centric brake line union is a lot thicker than the old one. I’ll need to get a longer bolt. After I pinched down the c-clip at the hard-line I noticed the line doesn’t reach the axle housing. I think it’s because there is no weight on the springs. The car is supported at the unibody. How long should the centric brake line be? Maybe I bought the wrong one?

went for a...:chirp:today. got into it kinda hard and when I got out it wouldn't idle below 1730 RPMs. I was a couple of miles from home so headed back. had to shut it down in gear and at that it wanted to run on.
pulled the breather off and a piece of the breather gasket was sticking down in the throttle body. it was holding one of the butterflys open. I had to open the throttle to get it to release.
I'm guessing it got sucked in when I got on it hard.
it will be back in the streets tomorrow and we will try it again...:drive:...:chirp:
