Took mine out for a long ride since installing the headers. These headers (Hedman 88400 shorties) hit nowhere, but are close on the steering gear, and the pitman arm is close at full turn, but does not hit the tube. I painted the headers with high temp paint (2,000 degrees) and it looked like the car was on fire till the paint cured, then it was fine. I'm real happy with the headers, and the car sounds better and has a bit more power than the manifolds.

Picked up a pair of front tires off craigs list. It'll put a little more rubber on the road! 20180407_210141.jpg

Got to go :chirp:and test the shocks I put in this AM, the TFI ignition and final tune adjustments from a few days ago, U-joint r&r, longer front yoke, the rebuilt Holley 1850 from a few months ago, and the power steering pressure adjustment from last fall. Everything felt good except I think my toe in is out instead of in. still gotta check that.....But I gotta say it is WONDERFUL (!!!!!!) to have a carburetor that doesnt flood intermittently and cut out in intersections and other embarrassing places.

Not today, but over the weekend I tested different ways to see how I can get my back up lights to work. Mission Unsuccessful. I need to go wire chasing this weekend when I have some free time.

Frank I guess you can polish a turd, looking good. Good thing you started this project this early because July is approaching, aside from changing transmissions weekly this has been a real time consumer and willing to bet you dont want to have nothing to do with a grinder and file and sander for awhile after this project is done

all my projects take 3 times as long and 2 times the money I think it will in the beginning...
I don't mind, I've been doing this to about all my projects over the years. I did more than one part on about all my Harley show bikes back in the day.
I started building a show bike in 1970 out of junk parts. most of the parts were given to me because people saw no worth in them. it took 7 years and went through 3 divorces to finish.
it's name was "Junk Iron". it took 4th place at the Int. bike show in Daytona Beach Fl., first place three years in a row at the "World of Wheels" and many 1st at the local shows. I had $633.12 in it when done, most of that was having parts chromed after I touched them up.
it just takes one case of want to and a large can of can't quit...LOL
