I have a ford 3 core radiator, and the fan barely fit in my car with shaving the shroud, I think on all four sides. I also moved the radiator to the side a little .....as I recall, there were some extra holes in my core support and I had to only drill 2 new ones. I used a junkyard taurus fan, so it was not aftermarket. I hope you get it in there!

I have a 3 row with the Taurus fan mounted up side down. I gently masaged the mounting holes on the rad cradle forward about an inch ( not for the faint of heart) and this is how it ended up. comet elect fan install 021.jpg

I got the fan to fit, and it works well, at least it works as well as the original one did. The volts drop below 12v when the fan comes on low, about 11v on high. I guess next is the battery and alternator. I'll track this gremlin down yet, but not till after his hurricane goes away, and see what I have to do when that happens. BTW, all of you eastcoasters be carefull, be smart and come out of this in good shape!

Hopeful that you'll ' miss ' the path of the hurricane .. Incidentally .. an alternator with a greater capacity is a good
idea . I run the AC ' All The Time ' down here in Florida so we changed ours and it really helped.

Chip, I am running a 3G alternator, 95amp from a 1996-2005 F650 truck. I chose it because the form factor is exactly like the stock alt. Its been in the car for over 10yrs, so it may be time to check it out. Advance Auto Parts put their checker on it and the battery, said both were good. I'll wait till this storm passes and get on it again.
    Take care,

    Hi Earl:
WHERE are you testing the voltage readings.. Inside the Car ?? Outside under the hood ?? The alternators I have
on our cars here are 125 AMP units .. and my Daughter has a 110 without any problems. Lemmeno about the reading locations. It will make a difference .

I am reading the voltmeter inside the car. I checked the battery, with the engine running, and it read 14v. When I turn the a/c on, the voltmeter inside read 12v. Haven't had time to read at the alt yet, doing hurricane preps for tomorrow.
