Don’t was more easy to install a helicoil in the strip threads ? Than retap to a big bolt size

I'm not a big fan of helicoils...I'm more of a ...Keensert...person. I couldn't find any in the size I needed. they are threaded metal sleeves.
helicoils to me are just coiled wire.

Go with your instincts and what it make you feel more comfortable, Nothing better than you feel you have done the correct job ,

Cleaned this up in preparation for sale. Local auction charges $100 to run it through, going to give that a shot so I don't have to deal with people!!! Bought it new in 2006, made considerable changes and put a bunch of miles on it (by my standards) and now it's time to be someone else's. Looking forward to turning it into more Maverick parts!

Today I dug through the cabinet and found a NIB oil pump, NIB double roller timing set and enough gaskets & seals to do 2 engines. (y)
Now I need to find time to stop by my buddies and pick up a 4 barrel intake and oil pan.

He was quoting a different post. You might searchin the technical forums for S10 or remote hood release, could be a write up there.
