Hi Everett, I had the DuraSpark ll setup, which failed. I went to a Mallory setup, but didn't like it at all. Had to replace the module a couple times within a month, so it went away. I replaced the distributer and coil with the Pertronix FlameThrower pieces, and it was trouble-free for over 10yrs. Now, the module has died, or so says the Pertronix tech. I'll let you know how it goes. Hopefully, this fixes it and gets it up and running again.

It's surprising how many(supposedly) bad coils are out there. Other than over heating a couple because I ran without resistor, in 50+ years I've never had a failure. Check that, I've seen spark jump out the side of tower, but was still OK electrically.

I'm somewhat suspect Pertronix quality has declined over the years. They say made in USA but where are components sourced?

One in my Cobra Jet is around 25 years old, but I've carried points and condenser in the console from day one. Recently updated condenser as those fail more from age than usage.

Well, distributor module, cap and rotor replaced, with no effect. Next thing will be the ignition switch circuit and wiring. This problem has me all tied up, but I'll get it soon.

Found the ignition switch to be burned and melted on the pigtail connector. Parts are ordered, see if that is the problem. Sounds like it very well could be. If not, move to technical forum.

Flushed all the brake fluid through the system. Vacuum bleeder for the win. Also, ground down some rust on the interior and hit it with reformer.

Working on Wilwood front brake disc brake conversation. Need to bleed system still and get tires for my new front wheels.

I yanked off the electric fan that I've never been happy with, then reinstalled factory shroud & fan blade.

They are American racing Rodder Or VN507. I went with 17 inch x 7 inch wide. I don't have tires mounted up yet but hope to have it rolling again soon.

I was actually looking at getting a set of those. Let me know when you get rubber on them.

It's always been borderline with cooling but to be fair, some of the issue may be the engine rebuild. With a orig type fan & shroud cooling defiantly improved, radiator was new when I installed engine.

For some time I'd been thinking of trying a engine driven fan. What pushed me over the edge was driving the '69 Fairlane home from OH in upper 80s, it never spilled a drop of coolant.
