Going to load my 75 Comet track car up today an off to shop Monday IMG_20190204_182701.jpg to wire for lights to make it street legal. Or as much street legal as needed !! So to the street with this one for the first time in 15 year's. So change out wheels n tire's, add lights. With my progressive neurological condition turning wrenches myself almost impossible. Won't stop my driving n enjoying my car's....Not Yet !!!!

Finally got my Digi-tails wired in and working. I have everything soldered and heat shrink. I still need to clean up the wiring in the trunk and tidy it all up. Finding and changing the turn flasher was a chore. I don't know if it mounts to the dash or not but the old flasher ended up breaking when I tried to push it off the dash ledge. Now I have to clean up the housing and tail light panel on the car to put the tail lights back together.

Couldn't get the video to upload. So this picture is all I could show.

replaced the detent cable on my transmission. went with the stock replacement instead of the aftermarket fit all that was on there.
also didn't get the memo about when you pull the cable housing out that a quart of fluid would run out on the floor...:slap:
replacing the throttle cable and bracket tomorrow.

Finally got the car off the trailer and started cleaning it up for the Arizona mini meet Saturday night. Still have a few little repairs to make and get it washed tomorrow. At least the temps should get to around 70 for the day.

Oh please, I didn't know there "was" a memo. I thought it was normal to find rakes in the grass. "Doh!"

Tried to change motor mounts. Could not to get the holes to line up. Motor mounts, old and new, look identical. Not likely the fault of replacement part, more likely lack of skill the installer. Easy removal of the old one. Tried each of the new ones, each off by about 3/16-inch. The old motor mount went back in without the a hint of drama. No seriously, it went back in literally effortlessly. Car was bent once. Possible the old motor mounts are bent, too.

Loosen the frame mount bolts and the bolts to the block, slide the bolt through and tighten everything up. It may have been that way from day one but the rubber took a set over the years and now fits like a glove.

took most of the wiring loose under the hood. cut out a lot of extra length wire and eliminated some extra relays, circuit brakers and removed the remote starter solinond. rewiring the E-fuel pump w/relay.

Picked up my Comet today from getting work done to make it street legal. Headlights, blinkers, running lights and a few other things. Wish my wrench skills weren't diminished from progressive neurological issues but it's life. The handicapped, disabled should stay involved in activities that make them happy. I will ... Encourage others !!
Now I just need to get that walker on board with some improvements !! IMG_20191218_145414.jpg
