this is what I have used (even on new gas tanks).

Red-Kote is an internal fuel tank liner designed to seal leaks and prevent further rusting. As a sealant, Red-Kote excels at sealing the often hundreds of pin-hole leaks that occur along seams or where straps wrap around the tank.

You can get gear with pin from parts store. They may have to order. I've bought gears with hole predrilled and without.

And i bought point distributor and it came with steel gears.

You probally know this but for others. Know what you're getting visually. The parts store guy will not know difference.

Cast distributor gear is rough. Steel distributor gear are smooth and pretty.

Mismatch distributor and/or cam gear will destroy each other eventually. To make you more cautious all than grind up metal in your motor.

I physically didnt do anything today but made plans:
Taking the car to the alignment shop tomorrow.
Made plans to have winshield and gasket removed so I can pull the dash.
Went by Winger Engine builders to talk about future motor for the car. Think I've decided on a 347. Nothing radical but what we discussed will be between 4-500 hp. I have a 302 and 351 at the house so I have some of the parts already. It will be carbureted at I cant afford a efi system at the moment.

Red kote is good stuff, I had to reseal my 73 tank after finding some pin holes in it and it has been great since then.

This is what i'm working with. Remember that pretty hood with bondo?
Well the tank have a square patch (zoom in and u can see). The bottom of tank was covered vompletely with fiber glass resin substance but without the fiber. Was dried and cracking. The gas leak melted. See pictures.

    2. Take note of how close the exhaust is to tank. I would not be comfee with that. I did a little research today and look like a better option would to go with 66-68 mustang tank.

wouldn't a stock replacement tank be easier?

According to my research a stock replacement tank would be a F30 tank. F30/stock tank is offset to driver side limiting space to exhuast on driver side alone. The 66 to 68 mustang tank modification put tank in centered. Allow space for dual exhaust. I got that tip on this forum. You were on several post.

Now would the time for me to do this modification.
