The outside body is completely solid as is the roof and trunk pan. The cowl is completely shot... one of the worst ones I have ever see. The front floor pans are also gone. If it was a 2 door I would repair and replace the cowl and floors but a 4 door just isn’t worth it.

If it wasn’t a 4 door I would probably save it. Pulled the carb off tonight and it is insanely clean. Doesn’t look like it has ever been rebuilt. Also the car still has the original spark plugs, wires, heater hoses, etc... it’s pretty crazy. I’ll have to get a picture of the cowl it’s pretty bad.

this is a youtube link (i hope, i have never put a link in here before) Its the first start up right after i finished the cam break in. If it doesn't work search
"1975 supercharged Maverick" that should take you right to it.

I picked my car up from the shop after the winshield and rear glass was removed. Going to start removing the dash. Plan on painting the dash and fixing what ever may need to be fixed. Praying the cowl is in as good of shape as I think it is. Any useful tips for removing the dash will be appreciated. 15792970741373263379840458544604.jpg 15792970937645865209263655572810.jpg

Well...I got the dash out and the heater box. Took a few bolts out I didnt need to but they are out. Now to commence on fixing the hack job on the wiring from one of the PO to hook up the gauges. Will need to replace the blower motor I believe. The ground cable was not attached and frayed pretty badly. I'll diagnose that. Also the wiper motor only worked on one speed. Will have to check that out as well.

Well...on a good note, the blower motor does work. Will have to make a new ground wire. On the negative side, the outer piece that holds the heater core is broken. A few of the clips were missing and the upper part where it goes over the cowl is broken as well as the lower corner. 15793065471935930321586521793366.jpg 15793065681852063687502217801545.jpg will be hitting up the want ads to see if anyone has one in good shape. Thankfully the heater core is in good shape.

Always buy a new heater core. Better to be safe than sorry...

I didn't once and was sorry a month later. It's not a mistake you make twice.

I've replaced two new cores that had a leak at the seam. I now have them pressure checked before installed...:thumbs2:

This is my plan with mine, I havent had much luck in the past with new items for older vehicles. Definitely a good idea to replace but will have this one checked first.

Finally got my Taurus fan problems worked out. After a few replacement parts, and a new alternator and sensors, I found that the last shop I had look at it removed the sensors to clean them, and put them in backwards. So, the fan was trying to come up on the high side first, loading down the system. I cleaned them, reversed them, and it now works like it should. I installed a 150amp alternator, and you can't even tell when the fan comes on. Works well on high side with the A/C. Glad to finally get this job done. Car is running great now.
