Cleaned more crap off the bottom. I swear there is no end to it! Thankfully I'm down to the nooks and crannies as well as some spots I couldn't get to before.

Pulled the gage cluster and had a look at the problematic temp control cable. I can see that when you slide the control lever it feeds the cable one inch into the cable sheath and any further movement of the lever causes the cable to jam and form an S bend with no cable entering the sheath. I have a new cable coming from Melvin’s. I hope it’s the correct length. Dyent (David) is helping a lot with the advice, Thanks David.

Also I ordered white LED lights off eBay. As soon as everything is here I’ll get back to it. Shipping from Georgia to Canada for the replacement cable is $15 for first class mail which I figured is pretty good.

I picked up a set of BMW 3 series seats off craigslist. They were too good to pass up on at $200. I have the Torino seats but they have no bolstering and the foam needs replaced along with the seat backs. For the price of the foam alone I have real nice power leather seats that won't look too out of place.

Those are some nice looking seats and I dont think they will look out of place in a Mav, should be comfy also. Good score

I like the way you set up your fuel pump. Much better for it than to put it up on the frame rail.

While I wait for my new temperature control cable, I’m “getting rid” off some rust around the front marker lights. I pulled off the lights and the metal holder. Here’s a pic of a reconditioned light holder assembly. I soaked one in vinegar for a few days, scraping it two or three times a day then put some rust remover gell on it for 10 min. I then cleaned off the gell and soaked it again in vinegar, rinsed it off, dried it off. I then sanded what surfaces I could and gave it a coat of primer. I then gave it two coats of silver caliper paint I had left over. There’s still a lot of pits but it’s not in a high visibility area. Some of the black stuff is undercoating from the 70’s.
