Hoe much is it? Right now im getting literally everything for free. Shrink tube, ties, wire, everythinh. Only thing I have to by is toggles, butt connectors and the time to figute it out.

Id rather teach mysrlf and save the money to put into other stuff in the car. And the only way ill learn is hands on experience.

Well I finally got around to converting my Ignition system over to electronic out of a 75 on my 69.5. The ol 250 runs much better but is in need of an overhaul. That will come later.

I second the motion against Butt Conectors. I very rarely use them at work.

I agree w/ all on not using butt connectors. I never use them on anything that makes the car run or has the capability to set the car on fire.
I do use bullet connectors on occassion; I always put the female end on the hot side in case it pulls apart. I pull or cut the vinyl/poly insul on the female end and solder it to the wire - always on a fused circuit.
It's a lot of trouble if u have a lot of them but it's a lot of trouble if ur car catches fire.

I used to build bucket trucks and digger derricks for Altec and the contract we had for Rochester Gas And Electric called for these heat shrink butt connectors that had solder built right into them. You overlapped each wire end in the connector, took your heat gun to the center and the solder would melt. Let it cool for a second or two and then heat shrink the 2 ends. You would pull the wire in half before the butt connector would break. These are the only ones that I would put any trust in.

installed driveshaft, tightened up my trans mount, replaced rear end axle seals, started wiring up the efi harness, adjusted the x over points on my stereo, and purchased more parts.

Today the trunk came in the mail I bought from a member. For once UPS didn't damage my item. Was showing my gf why my trunk rusted out....pointed inside to show her where mine had mouse nests....then she said, "that one does too." lmao it does!

    Mice must like Maverick trunks!

Got to investigate on some rust treatments to treat this trunk and my hood to prevent future rust penetration.

Installed a new dashpad, prettied up my B&M slapstick, and tuned up the choke so I can actually make it to school.

I prefer to solder and heatshrink also, but saying that...

My company builds wire harness. We apply thousands of crimped connections, including hundreds of butt and parallel splices, everyday without problem. (Between the two I prefer a parallel splice where the conductors are side-by-side and then crimped together) If they are applied correctly with the correct tool that provides a gas-tight crimp, crimped connections work very well. Most guys just have the pliers-type field service tool that should not be used in critical circuits. We also ultrasonic weld wires together but that piece of equipment is out of reach for most home enthusiasts, LOL.

And then there are those people that shouldn't even have a toolbox...

I just got back from picking up a metal sign that was specially made for my '72 Grabber. I've been trying to help this guy I met sell some shirts on here, on a different thread, and he made the sign for me for helping him. It says Reserved Maverick Grabber Parking Only and has a picture of my car. Very Cool!
