    Created a problem Sunday and fixed it today. I'm doing the JB Weld conversion to floor shift on my column so I needed to remove the ignition switch rack. Deep under the tumbler is a snap ring, mine was fragile and both tabs with the holes snapped clean off leaving the rest of the ring. Took a drill bit to the pot metal so I could get a pick behind the ring. All was going as planned until the bit hit the snap ring and it broke again and fell out.     That's a good question, I didn't even look at it! It was an 1/8 bit so I would imagine it didn't but I'll look tonight when I get home.

    Installed new Champion radiator today. Had to redrill the holes a half-inch lower to get the drain cock off the front crossmember, just like TeeEl said. New upper and lower hoses-had to fabricate a lower hose spring cause the one from AutoKrafters didn't have one. 80 degrees here today, not bad, car goes down the road 175-180. Idling 15 minutes in driveway went to 185. Had a brass/copper 3-row for an A/C equipped Maverick in it before, would have been over 200 idling that long. Win! Radiator.jpg

    Finally got my sniper system to work correctly. Drove it for about 70 miles and works great! Then got home and peeled off the old tint from my windows. After all that drove my maverick over to the alignment shop to help out my buddy. He recently finished a 71 grabber for his wife and took it over to pep boys to get an alignment. They decided to leave his key in the run position while working and fried the coil. It was boiling hot and expanded. I am surprised it didnt pop... Thankfully I had just upgraded my pertronix and had my old coil nearby and brought it over to him so he could swap them out. He was running pertronix as well. Needless to say the shop got an earful...

    Oh we talked with the manager…they originally denied all responsibility for it. But when I told them I found the car in the run position and the coil was smoking they decided to discount the amount due. They took off half the total which paid for a new coil.
