Proof that QC inspectors sleep on the job.

Was doing some sanding and other body work, he was too bored to keep his attention up.

I used to look at these types of conversions as overkill....but I have come to appreciate them the longer I am stuck in 8.2 deck prison. Good for you to tackle it.

Well to be honest after being half way through it I think it would be worth it even for a stock 302 with headers.. Just the struggle of bolting the headers on or changing the spark plugs was enough for me to want to have a stock windshield laying around so I could put a hammer though the one on the car..

Sorted the side marker bezels to see if I had any decent condition ones that matched. Sadly no, so cleaned up a set of them and got them in primer. Not sure now if I'll do body color, black or chrome paint on them, but at least got them ready to go.

While sorting, I was shuffling them and got a headache trying to keep track of front and rears. Found a little trick after a while: The front have the alignment tab in the corner, the rears have it centered. These tabs are on the top/back of the bezel - see pic.

Hey Lee...not sure if you recall...but when I had my Maverick painted I decided to paint the bezels black. I thinks it's pretty sharp looking.

Wow, that gives you plenty of room around that big Coyote engine!

I had seen that and a couple others and that looks great with the stripe. I'm leaning towards a brighter blue body color, without the stipes (though I do have a grabber stripe kit the PO bought). I did have a full second set of trims so cleaned those up and painted them satin black. I'll keep the first set primered to go either body color or trim color when I get the paint going. Was nice the PO had collected so many extra parts it give me the option. I can try each of them out to see what looks best.

I still have until March or April for the weather to get warm enough to paint in my shop without burning a cord of wood. (It's 6 degrees outside this morning in Arizona!) That gives me time to change my mind another 483 times on the paint scheme!

Yes it does for the most part its crazy how much wider they are but they seem shorter from bell to balancer.

Went to a swap meet today and picked up a few nice things. Apparently the gentleman who sold me the gas caps lives in the town where the locking caps were made and bought a bunch back in the 90s! CD6245B3-520C-4484-9981-E5F6511BF41A.jpeg

Long thread. I bet it's the longest on this site. Anyway going through most my parts and pulling Maverick/Comet parts. These parts will be attempted to be sold at next swap meet. I will also have Mustang parts.
    What doesn't sell gets scrapped.
