i installed my back glass 2 days ago, joy. first glass installation ever. called our local glass people, they came out and scratched their heads. he didn't know how to install the back glass. sense u need to glue in the gasket. figured why give him $115 to wing it. so its in. pretty easy, except for the damn glue.
water test it in a week.

Glue? I didn't use any glue on mine. Just some rope and some soap to lube it up. Hasn't leaked in 15 years.

:hmmm: Wasn't any glue on it when I took it off. Just cleaned up all the dirt and stuff and used a new weatherstrip. Guess it was soft enough to contour all the the curves dimples in the metal.

Are you guys using glue on the inside to the glass or the outside to the metal?

Ordered a Poly-Graphite complete front end kit through P-S-T.com
    Ordered Inner Tie Rods
    Ordered 7x7 HD Lights
    Ordered a Ilder Arm
    Ordered Oil Pan Gasket
    Ordered 5qt of Oil w/Filter
Ordered Wheel Bearings inner & outer w/ casing
Ordered a brand new CD Player

    Total roughly 800-900$ for everything.

Still need Coil Springs & Shocks and front end will be complete.

This past week, I have tore out my tie rods, oil pan, center link, sway bar, wheel bearings, air filter housing, had everything painted at work with industrial grade black paint with extra paint hardener in it (free - gotta love work).

Only thing I was able to do yesterday was install brand new inner & outer tie rods, wheel bearings, center link, idler arm, sway bar, poly-graphite sway bar bushings, oil pan gaskets, oil filter, oil, 7x7 lights, CD Player (with notched out original radio bezel), air filter housing,

I took pictures of EVERYTHING, Prior, During, and After -- Then my fu**ing SD Card on my cell phone went corrupt so I lost all the pictures. I was keeping everything very documented so I could write up a tech article for front end rebuild. I want to SCREAM!!!

Still need to tear out the rest of the front end and rebuild -- Currently looking for a garage to do everything in. Will have everything prepped & cleaned then brought to my work to have painted and reinstalled. -- I will take pictures with an actual Digital Camera and will re-take pictures of what I lost in attempt to write up a artical for you guys.

I will also update everything in a new thread with tons of pictures. Will be able to answer any questions.

P.S. I have NEVER done this before, never even though about it, so this past week I have learned tons of knowledge and I am loving every minute of it.

    ----------

Also took my front valance to work and handed it over to a co-worker to stitch weld a small tear in the valance. Got it back yesterday -- Will hammer out any dings/dints, bondo, air board it, and prep for paint. Still have no clue as to what color I want to do.

I looked over at mine and thought "Man my car is dusty"while I was installing a set of rear Upper and lower control arms and torque box re-enforcements into my friends Mercury Capri.
