When my car was on Power Tour East in 1999, it dropped a lifter. I decided not to mess with it until I got it home a couple days later. It seemed happy enough, driving along, ticking away.

At that point, I thought it should be called "Timex" ..... takes a licking, and keeps on ticking. ;)

When we pulled it apart to take a look, there were two more lifters trying to die. Seems the 7000 rpm springs I put on it were a bit much for the factory lifters. Aftermarket lifters went in, and all was well again.

    Hey Captain:
How many Comets and/or Mavericks did you see on YOUR HRPT in 99 ? I've made nine Tours so far .. and I met only a few on the runs . A lot of participants and spectators invariably asked .." What YEAR is it ? " .. That's usually a question people ask when they have No Idea what BRAND the cars are .. When I'm asked I just tell them the year and wait for the NEXT question .. : ) .. Still Lots of Fun on these Tours ..
