Sigh.. you're missing the point entirely. This is obviously the drag racing section but there have been and still are many street cars running around here too. In fact, read the very first post and it says.. "My car: '73 Comet street and strip car". Otherwise it would probably be called the.. "drag strip only" section and no one here without a big block or power adder could even push a street oriented gear. Also why some may call it street/strip because they want to enjoy a faster street legal car they can actually drive more than 15 - 20 times a year. And not everyone can afford to run 400 degree cams spinning 6,000 rpm stalls smacking up against 6.50 gears just to pretend their factory prostockers once it's off the trailer. "Fast only" is finicky and very very expensive. But this?.... My car: '73 Comet street and strip car, 363 ci. 9:71 cr AFr 185 heads Comp cams hyd. roller .565-.574 lift , 282-290 dur. 112 sep. Hey 306,great little street car & I`m sure its fun to drive to,a 12 sec car is pretty quick on the street.I`m also fairly sure it is pretty reliable,& that is a good gear you are running,my favorite for a street car even though I`ve seen some very fast drag cars using it just depends on the combo.
