This is what is in mine, It has took many years of abuse, without one whimper. There is some other true lockers on the market, But they either require air or electric to lock, In other words you can turn them off and on.( mostly used in four wheel drive applications) Where a Detroit operates all the time with no driver input other than your foot.

So in my car, when I do a brake stand, both tires spin.

I bought the car from a guy that acted like it was stolen but it's title checked out. He knew nothing about it. Other than it was black and had a v8.

Reading this thread tells me that I might have a LSD??

Any easy ways to determine what I have?

P.S. Motor is on the stand (out of the car) at this point.

I know that Ford listed a limited slip for Pinto's and Mustang II's, but I've never seen a Pinto with one. Has anybody else? I can see Mustang II's with one a lot easier than a Pinto. No factory V8 in a Pinto. I have also seen the 6.75 rear in Pinto V6's. And I know that Ford would never have installed a limited slip in that light rear end. So I don't think that Pinto's (even with the V6) ever had a eight inch rear. So by elimination, no limited slip available in Pinto's. Can somebody prove me wrong?
