You guys got this all wrong. The hardest to find NOS OEM parts are anything from the Shelby Maverick:bouncy:

I really don't remember what it looked like. If I ever see one again...I will shoot a picture of it or take it!!

    Funny...

I scrolled through this one quickly and thought someone was posting that ball trailer hitches were hard to find.

I would have guessed the rim-blow steering wheels...

I am new to these cars. I would have to agree with the boomerangs. Mine got a nice hood chrome, as for the rear defogger there is a complete kit nos on ebay, All i ever see are guys asking about the boomerangs. (Mine are pretty nasty too)

I wouldn't have thought that way.
I have seen several of those in person, but never a Maverick rim-blow.
Rim-blow was a good one by the way...

All the Ford Rim-blows were the same ... they are available all the time on eBay ... but are big bucks for a nice or restored one. The Maverick used the same center insert as Torino's ... the Ford Crest. Mustangs obviously used the mustang insert.

Here is the correct center for a Maverick on eBay right now for $150 ...

I suppose I was refering to a rim-blow equipped Mav.
I guess the part is not that hard to find, but a Mav that was equipped with rim-blow from the factory is a hard one.
I have only ever seen one, and that was in a picture.
I am sure anyone could create a rim-blow option for their own use.
Good idea btw, however if we are just talking parts, I suppose the rim-blow can't count.

Actually if you follow MavDude's first post for this thread, his question was,
Not the rarest part or option on a Maverick but the rarest on your car. I know a guy in Canada that has a factory block heater. Thats got to be up there too.

    Well now hold on...
He ended the post asking what we thought was the rarest or hardest to find.

However, I did miss the wording you pointed out. :)

The rarest part on my own 75 Mav is the 72 Dodge Demon hood scoop. :D
The rarest part on my 72 is the Sprint emblem. Not very rare I know, but it is the rarest I have personally.
My 75 has an original 71 Mach gas cap.
Not really rare, but not a repop either, only made for part of one model year.

The rarest part on my car is the upper clutch equalizer return spring ... that took longer for me to find than the engine side V8 z-bar mount ....

Dan what does that spring look like? Does that go from the arm to the firewall?

I suppose the rarest on my personal Mavs would be. The leather wrapped steering wheel on the Grabber. And on the Stallion would be the springs and mounts that dmhines is talkin about, but I have them for a 6 & 8.

As far as finding OE parts. What about the Maverick Consolette with clock that was on ebay. Did someone on here end up with that?
