   It's the socket (harness really) that's wired that way, not the bulb. You may have understood that, and I mis-understood your post, I which case, ignore this post.

   I just revised my post to add that I mean the sportlamps are wired that way.
   
   Interesting side note: have opened NOS boxes and found either the clear or the amber bulb inside from the factory ....
