I should have said the car was raced for years then the driveline was pulled for another project and it was put away. I can tell by the wormanship the work done was top notch its just been sittin up for awhile.
My oldest son wants me to get it so we can bring it back to its former glory, the car has a history at one of the local tracks here.
For 1200.00 dollars I don't see how I could go wrong.
    We shall see.

Your dead on there John, I think I'm gonna go for it, you only go around once and you know what they say...there's no replacement for displacement. This is a build that won't happen overnight though...gonna take time. I want to build it with the goal of pulling a sub six second 1/8. Maybe mid 5's....

you could always chang it to a sb drive line ,wish i could have found it sounds like a good deal. and the car has history, maybe get some of that documentation with it that would be kool ,good luck with it !!!!!!!! if you deside to go that rought ,also could lead to other things like meeting new people that could sponsor you never know....

Them cookies got somethin in em?:D Seriously though, exactly what is that setup Ray?
I've got a good 460 block to start with, was thinkin of strokin it with some seriously ported Blue Thunder heads, dual carb tunnel ram intake, a couple of Holley dominator carbs, maybe a shot of nitrous, and maybe a Lentech tranny to get that power to the rear wheels.
I'm thinkin somethin in the neighborhood of 800 horses on engine only to get mid 5's ?
    What do yall think?

Had a couple of similar deals come to my attention here in the northwest but a few would never have passed tech at a track. Before I bought my kid's Mustang drag car I got ahold of certified tech official and had him tech it for me to make sure it would be worth it. Passed on a couple of others 'cause I knew that they couldn't pass at the speeds I had envisioned for them. If you can't get an official at least check a rule book for the speeds you hope to go for specifications needed.
