I wonder who's gonna be the first to ask about beating the new 5.0 Oo???????? Oh and scooper what are you running in the 1/8th with that setup??
I completely eliminated all my wheel hop by going with the steeda lower and upper adjustable control arms on a 2010 gt making 437 to the wheels on drag radials. I was planning on going with a panhard bar but never wanted to spend the cash after the wheel hop was gone and was cutting 1.6 60's.
Had that happen to me more then once lol. I've fell asleep at the light hard before haha. I had a guy beat me one day running a mid 13 and I ran a 12.12 lmao. I was almost in a comma at the light that night.
The track closed right after I put this engine together, so only seat of pants and dyno run to give me an estimate. The guy that dynoed it and helped me tune the carb suggested the high 11s number. He is the guy from Strictly Performance...I keep seeing him in the car magazines with Quickest Mustang in the US. So he has a little experience with drag racing. Richard Lelsz. I just looked him up on Google, and he has moved his shop over to the town I work in. Also, it says he got 9.96 after swapping a C4 into the '10 Mustang! (and other modifications, of course) http://www.mustangblog.com/blog/104...-gt-in-the-9s-belongs-to-strictly-performance I personally have never been in an 11 second car, and doubt it would get close to that. I would be happy with high 12s. I have since moved, and now live just 10 miles or so from another 1/8 track, and maybe 25 miles from Houston Raceway Park's 1/4 track. So maybe this summer... Got a freshly rebuilt transmission, so no real excuses for not giving it a try.
what did the car make on the dyno? I think you could score some 11's. Definitely better then high 12's depending on your experience which seems like you have a lot of. The 12's were my barrier for the longest just due to the fact that I wasn't " racing " the car persay. I was granny shifting low 12's and one night just said screw it and powershifted that sucker to a 11.91 which was my first 11 second pass in over 3 years lol. I was just wondering because I'm considering building this 302 in the Maverick and looking at different setups. Nothing track specific but a nice street car. A 9 second pass out of a 4.6 is pretty sick. I have a few friends deep into the 10's with the new 5.0 but nothing record breaking.
The hiccups are an electrical bug in the sensor pickup wire. So, I guess 330-ish at the flywheel? Nice torque curve. A few days later two roller rockers walked off, so I wonder if I was running on two half-cylinders at the time. Also, he was stopping at 6000 rpms. I told him 6500 minimum, or even one at 7000.
the average 3v 4.6 mustang runs 8.80's-9.30's around here. My cousin has a full weight 93 hatch with a 306 e303 and gt40p heads and goes 8.60's. A gt40 headed 302 and a c4 and about a 3500 stall will outrun the majority of newer mustangs except 03-04 cobra
what parts need to burn a 4.6 stang A gallon of gas and a box of matches!
Flyinbrd: Are you talking about Brian's Stang? He took it to around 8K if I remember right. Ed used to cringe when he talked about it Clevelands rock.
