I got mine from ebay, they show up from time to time and usually sell for $100+. A little luck is involved... here's a pic a friend mine took of a Mav at Bob's Big Boy in LA...
here's two on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-3-SPOK...pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-RALLY-...pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr you might want to check with the second seller whether the wheel really has a horn button - there's two styles. the later wheels did not have a horn button as it moved to the tip of the turn signal lever.
Took me over a year to find one nice for a decent price. Careful, alot of junk ones on ebay that need parts replaced.
If I remember correctly they only came in Mavericks for one year, 70 I think. They are super rare though, I've only seen 3 so far on this board in the past 6 years. They are known as a rim-blow. In 69 they started appearing in Mustangs and Cougars. They are expensive . The Re-productions start out at $1,200 And I don't think that company is even reproducing them anymore. But they went by "gtmuscleparts" on ebay Original used ones start out at $400. And those are usually missing the pad and have cracks in them. A Replacement Pad alone costs $200. Then you have to factor in the restoration work, you'll have at least $800 minimum into it.
Thanks for the tip. I consider this car a "driver"....so this wheel is probably too nice for this car the way it is.
The rimblow steering wheel ONLY came on the very early 1970 Maverick Grabbers. Started in February of 1970 and discontinued in April of 1970....so about (2) months. I have one of the steering wheels off of a 1970 Grabber I parted out. Once the steering wheel is restored it will go on my orange 1972 Grabber.
This is the wheel I got today. I got mine from dandsrodandcustom.com for $90.00. It is blue and 15 inches. Dave.
