See.....you found a diamond in the ruff! Now aren't you glad we talked you into going to see it & buying it? You've invested $150.00 & could sell it for $500.00 not running easy. You can more than triple you investment in 24 hours. Awesome job! I know you aren't letting it go now. I did the same thing when I bought a 74 4dr Comet 302 for $200.00. I was going to part it out. But, after cleaning & waxing it. I couldn't do it. I'm putting it in car shows this year with my 73 2dr Comet 302. You just never know what you are going to find. Again, great job & awesome find. I have faith that you will get it running, & it probably won't cost very much to do so. Let us know when you get it running & how much you invested.

first i used meguairs cleaning wax.. but that didn't take all of the battle scratches off unless you rubbed like really hard.. so i used turtle wax compound in the green plastic can. i used this compound on all my cars that had oxidized paint starting with my white car and then my blue car when it was original paint.

the problem with the turtle wax compound is you must be careful on what kind of paint you use it on. on old cars like our mavs it should work great only if paint is thrashed. i used it once and never again.

after using the turtle wax, i used the meguaiars cleaning wax (liquid). then used mothers deep scratch remover or something like that. then used mothers cleaning/carnuba wax and finished it off with mothers pure carnuba.

with that combination your paint should be bullet proof!!;)

dang i think i need someone to pay me to indorse these wax companies! hum..
