I have been working on a 71 maverick for about a year I am starting to taper down, power train done, interior about 90 percent, bodywork and paint done last weekend, disc brakes all around. I am trying to select wheel sizes I have someone telling me no bigger than 8 in the back. My question is I see people in the garage running 10’s on the back. My question did they fit with no issues inside and out and what was the back spacing I don’t see it lister I’m thinking 4.5 should work with a 0 offset. I would appreciate some help I’m thinking 18’s would be good and maybe 17x 7 upfront.

I have 18 x 10s on mine in this picture, I have clearance but it is snug. I would say I am good on the inside but still a bit tight to the wheel lip. As it sits right there I have rolled the lip between the silver arrows drawn on the quarter. With the lack of room a guy would want to be sure his bushings were new to minimize side to side axle movement. The tires are 275/35 18, a little short but they will eventually get replaced with a 40 series which might create new clearance issues.:meh:

Edit.... forgot to mention, my back spacing wasn't shared because it wouldn't help much. I have a wider than stock axle so my combination would not fit with a stock Maverick axle.

Ok well I love that, I am looking at 18 x 9.5 with a 4.5 BS I think I’m ok I love the look what are you running on the front? I like the way it fills the wheel wells. I’m gonna like this site I am working all the trim now, going black I think you have a pro touring look going.

Fronts are 18 x 9. I wish someone made these in 18 x 8 with proper offsets for our cars.

You have a great looking car, I like the color.
