here's a neat MPH/gear calculator: http://www.f-body.org/gears/ you can do side by side comparisons of changes.

it can also help you see where your RPMs will be after your shifts, to help match them up to your dyno sheet.

yah going 80 in 5th gear would drop the rpm's way lower than yours

is a world class t5 gearing longer than the normal one's

i think this is my gear ratio

    what is yours

    89-92 V8 T5 (World Class)
    Borg Warner T5 WC
    Gear Ratios : 2.95, 1.94, 1.34, 1.00, .62
    Spline : 26 input/27 output
    Dimensions :
    Torque Rating : 305 lb-ft

and this is what the link toled me and it seems right
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    with the 3.25 ratio

    it goes ----- 1 gear 2 gear 3 gear 4 gear 5 gear MPH

    at 3000rpm it is--28 --42-- 61-- 82-- 133

    at 5000 rpm it is--47 -- 71 -- 102 -- 137 -- 221

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    and with 389's it's

    at 3000 rpm is --23 --35 --51 --69 --111

    at 5000 rpm it is--39 -- 59-- 86 --115 --185
