Ok, this is kind of a silly question, but ill ask anyways. I was under the impression that the manual transmission would use a gear lube, like 90w. But when I pulled the engine it drained out a fair amount of what appeared to be regular tranny fluid. Which is proper and is there a drain plug?
If it's the older style top loader it should use 90w gear oil BUT if it's the newer style trans they use ATF or that type of oil
Ford three or four speed top loader transmissions require a 80-90 weight... Earlier T-5 also require 80-90W but the later World Class T-5 with fiber lined syncro cones require ATF...
